Dan (:"In the key of Q" is a new show launching on Tuesday 23rd March, where you can find queer musicians.

Dan (:Musicians like Ty McKinnie.

Ty (:Being black is already like in societal terms, It's already a born deficit. Like you already have that. So adding a gay label on top of that, you're just like asking yourself are just like a forever arse whipping from the world.

Dan (:Musicians like Brendan Maclean.
Song (:We want hugs not drugs or both if it's available.
Brendan (:We're all dreamers, be it by Mum's sort of wicker tendencies or my sister's love of the Earth. But the suburb just beat us all down.

Dan (:Musicians like SADBOY.

SADBOY (:Drake really opened up the door for Rap to get that vulnerability.

SADBOY (:With the queer audience. I feel like we influence Hip Hop. Like we control that.
Dan (:And to start the series, Matt Fishel, the King of Queer British Suburbia.

Matt (:I landed a few really good meetings with some, with basically most of the major labels and one by one they all started saying the same things to me. Every single one of them basically said to me, 'Great melodies. You've got a good voice. You obviously are very good at telling stories with your words, but you got to cut the gay content.'.
